Enterprise (SAFe®) shared services team to investigate
and promote cloud computing technologies at ADTRAN. Initiated effort to apply AWS
serverless technologies for data ingestion, processing (Lambda, Docker, Fargate), ETL (Glue/Spark), data exploration/analysis
(Athena/Hive/Presto), BI visualization (Quicksight)
with secure website access (Route53, CloudFront, WAF/ACL, Cognito), SAM.CloudFormation
templates. Worked with device engineers and staff subject matter experts to
identify and diagnose issues. Automated daily analytics of over 90,000
fielded ADTRAN network elements. ADTRAN customer management feedback: “we
turned the customer perception to the positive side. With this initiative we
triggered a bigger thought process. We are considered as the front runner in
the analytics area” Cloud architect and consultant for
cloud applications developed throughout the company including remote R&D
offices, IT, services, and test engineering. Application support included CloudFormation,
EC2/VPC architecture, IAM policy and roles. Initiated the Cloud Computing
Community of Practice at ADTRAN and led AWS certification study groups. March 2014 - July 2018 • Scrum Master • Product Owner • Principal
Engineer Agile team member developing server
database access and APIs written in Scala and Cassandra DB. Developed ADTRAN

Robot for system tests. November 2003 – March 2014 • Engineering
Manager Engineering Manager of development
teams for ADTRAN’s Element Management System (EMS), developed in Java with
Swing GUI. Led migration of the legacy EMS to a Service Oriented Architecture
(SOA) and MVC web client leveraging open source software (JBOSS EAP, Apache
Tomcat, Hibernate ORM, MySQL/MariaDB). The resulting system, AOE, remains in
production managing most of ADTRAN’s customer networks. March 1999 – November 2003 • Senior Design
Engineer Firmware developer of boot code and
drivers in C for telecommunications equipment products and ADTRAN’s first use
of the Motorola family of processors for embedded products. Designed and implemented embedded
software for a flash file system and inter-process messaging protocol in C++
for ADTRAN’s System Control module. Optimization

1997 - February 1999 • Staff
Engineer Created
an automated web hosted application supplying graphical visualizations for
simulation logistics data supporting the Combat Service Support Training
Simulation System (CSSTSS) logistics group at Fort Lee, VA. The application
was used in simulation exercises including Corps Warfighter at Fort Hood, TX,
Prairie Warrior at the National Simulation Center in Ft. Leavenworth, KS., and
Division Advanced Warfare (DAWE). Bolt
Beranek and Neumann (BBN), Systems and Technologies Division, Cambridge MA October
1993 – October 1997 • Software
Engineer Developer
on-site at the Naval Underwater Warfare Center (NUWC) in Middleton, RI. Developed
network interface allowing simulation software at the New London NUWC to
cooperatively execute with simulation software located at the Newport NUWC
following the DOD Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) standard.
Responsible for the design, development and implementation a "virtual
vehicle" (VV) simulation model for an undersea weapon system and for the
execution of the model in a simulation environment. On-site
support for the joint command Logistics Anchor Desk (LAD) at USACOM in
